There is a lot happening this Fall at the Bridge. We have a Family Picnic on October 25th, our New Members class is a starting up on October 27th and Women’s Bible Study resumes October 19th at 7:30pm. For more info on any of these and other events, contact the church office or grab a copy of the bulletin.

Well, we’re off. Vacation time begins today and we’ll be traveling around a bit visiting some friends and spending time with family at a couple of weddings. Looking forward to it. I’ll be back Sept. 2.

August 24 – Pastor Peter Brouwer (retired pastor, formerly New West CRC)

August 31 – Pastor Julia Vanderveen (current pastor, Vancouver CRC)

A quick update on some progress that has been made on the website. The forums have been created and you can take a look at them by clicking on the link in the sidebar or clicking here. They are a bit bare at the moment, but we’ll be fleshing them out as time goes on.

At the moment, there are two forums: general discussion and website suggestions/bugs. If you see anything odd about the site feel free to post the bug there and we’ll be sure to take a look.

The other exciting piece of news relates to our audio features on the site. Thanks to a nifty plugin, you can now listen to the sermon without even downloading it. Just go to the sermons page or click on an individual sermon and you can listen to it on that page, launch a popup player or download the mp3 file for listening later.

Hope everyone enjoys the new features, the next project is to get the podcast registered on itunes for easy sermon downloading. We’ll let you know when that goes live.

As you can see, the surroundings have changed a bit around here.

The goal for this redesign is to make it easier to find more information. The previous design pretty much boiled down to a fairly dreary list of recent sermon downloads. We kept the sermon downloads functionality, brightened up the design (thanks for the photos Chris!) and added a blog, news and comments.

There is bound to be quite a bit of dust as I finish transferring over old content, so your patience is very much appreciated. As for what’s coming, we’re hoping to get a calendar going and a member forum set up. Stay tuned!
